Medical students Mr. Sin Yuan CHIEN and Mr. Chih Wei CHIEN from Taiwan visited the AI Center

Medical students from National Taiwan University, Mr. Sin Yuan CHIEN and Mr. Chih Wei CHIEN, visited the visited the Medical AI Research and Development Center at Hokkaido University Hospital on October 30, 2024, as part of their overseas training during a short-term stay at Hokkaido University.

During their visit, they engaged in discussions with Associate Professor Kenji HIRATA, Specially Appointed Assistant Professor Ming-Hui TANG, and Specially Appointed Assistant Professor Yoshitaka BITO. Dr. HIRATA presented a summary of the center’s initiatives, while Dr. BITO introduced his research on “Analysis of Brain Hydrodynamics Using MRI/Low-b DTI.” Additionally, they observed the center’s GPU workstations in operation.

They also exchanged information on the current state of medical AI and digital transformation (DX) in Taiwan and Japan, discussing possibilities for the future development of medical AI and potential avenues for international collaboration.

Mr. Sin Yuan CHIEN and Mr. Chih Wei CHIEN posed various insightful questions regarding the center’s global outreach, making for a highly productive visit.

The Medical AI Research and Development Center at Hokkaido University Hospital will continue to promote advancements in medical AI research through such international exchanges.
