Overview of the Medical AI Research and Development Center

The Medical AI Research and Development Center was established as one of the Innovation Units of the Institute of Health Science Innovation for Medical Care (HELIOS), Hokkaido University Hospital to accelerate multidisciplinary research and development in the field of medical AI. In collaboration with companies (private sectors), seven AI development sections, two AI assistance sections, and an AI strategy section of the Medical AI Research and Development Center will accelerate the research and development of medical AI. In addition, in close collaboration with the “Global x Local-leading-edge AI research and development for solving problems in the medical field” program which has been selected by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT), our center will train/foster human resources who can become the leader of research and development of medical AI.
