Resident physician from Khon Kaen University, Dr. Apirak Pornsereekul, visited the Medical AI Research and Development Center

Dr. Apirak Pornsereekul, a second year resident physician in the Department of Radiology at Khon Kaen University, Thailand, visited the Medical AI Research and Development Center of the Hokkaido University Hospital on August 2nd, 2023, while he was staying at the Hokkaido University as part of his training program.

Dr. Apirak, who had always been interested in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Digital Transformation (DX), met with Dr. Kenji HIRATA (Associate Professor)  and Mr. Minghui TANG (Specially Appointed Assistant Professor) at the Center and engaged in a wide range of discussion; the path to becoming a top innovator in the medical AI field, their views on the future of Artificial Intelligence development on a global scale , specific AI algorithms, personal information protection, as well as ethical, legal and social issues.

Dr. Apirak was also introduced to the GPU workstations installed at the Medical AI Research and Development Center.

It is one of our missions to ensure that medical AI research and development happening at the Hokkaido University to be recognized globally.
To do so, we will continue to seek for opportunities such this to exchange and interact with researchers from all over the world.
