Research on Automatic Measurement of Lower Limb Muscle Volume Using AI
Muscle volume assessment is used as one of the evaluation indicators for tracking changes over time, not only in the effectiveness of rehabilitation but also in sports medicine. Although MR imaging can be obtained non-invasively, the similar signal intensity between adjacent muscles makes manual region of interest (ROI) setting for volume measurement highly labor-intensive. By applying AI-based semantic segmentation technology together with image processing techniques, we aim to develop a simplified method for muscle volume measurement.
