A Medical Student from Taiwan and Korea, Mr. Wei-Lun WEN and Mr. Dong Hyung LEE visited the Medical AI Research and Development Center

Mr. Wei-Lun WEN, a sixth-year medical student from National Taiwan University (Taiwan), and Mr. Dong Hyung LEE, a third-year medical student from Kyungpook National University (South Korea), visited Hokkaido University Hospital’s Medical AI Research and Development Center on January 17, 2024, as part of their overseas training program.

During their visit, Mr. WEN and Mr. LEE had a discussion with Professor Jun NAKAYA, Associate Professor Kenji HIRATA, and Specially Appointed Assistant Professor Minghui TANG at the AI Center. They received an overview of the Medical AI Research and Development Center and the Clinical AI Human Resources Development Program (CLAP).

They shared information about the current status of medical AI/DX in South Korea, Taiwan, and Japan, and exchanged opinions on the future development of medical AI, pathways towards social implementation, and international exchanges.

Additionally, they had the opportunity to see the GPU workstations in operation.

Hokkaido University will continue to promote such exchanges to disseminate the current status of its medical AI research and development both domestically and internationally.
